that one time I got a perm

Years ago (2007), I decided to get a perm... I had wanted one since I was a little girl so I thought it was about time... My mother in love is a hair dresser, so she did the perm, only she had to do it three (THREE) times before it even took, and even then it wasn't all that curly, more like wavy as you can see above... it was only that wavy if I had a ton of mousse in my hair...  I have a super sensitive head and it knotted so easily with the perm so I was always in pain when I had to comb it! In the last picture (awe how cute!) you can see how it was barely even wavy without product in it.

that one time we went on a dinner cruise

For our 1 year (dating) anniversary Derek took me on a trip to San Diego! It was perfect! We got to go to the beach and swing on the swings and eat ice cream at midnight (where I gave Derek his promise ring), we explored gardens, got to go to the zoo, we went to the maritime museum...and Derek surprised me with a dinner cruise! It was beautiful! We had such a lovely dinner and they even had balloons, wine glasses, and they announced us! I love this picture of us! It was taken on the deck of the boat, I remember being so in love and thinking about how I couldn't believe it had already been a year with this handsome man... and here we are 10 years later! I love him more now than I did then and I am so thankful that God has blessed me with someone so amazing!

(that last one is a blurry view of the city from the dinner cruise boat)

On that same trip we got to see my brother get sworn into the Army by my dad! It was so special! I had moved to Las Vegas (to be with Derek) the month after we got home from this trip so that was the last time I was going to see him until after he graduated from basic and AIT and could plan another trip. He and I had always fought growing up, but the last years of us living at home we became best friends and so it was hard to say goodbye!

TBT - Chewbacca is that you?

Today I am throwing it back to...
that one time I looked like Chewbacca.

It's hard to believe my hair was ever that long! I have had it short (not much longer than shoulder length) for quite some time now. And even though I am in the process of growing it out (for now), it's hard to remember it being long enough to cover my whole face and then some and make me look like Chewbacca!

Do you have long hair? Have you ever tried a fun Chewbacca selfie?

TBT - conjoined at the...hair?

right? that's what TBT means? I see it all the time, but I've never done one. I thought it was about time.

I may have mentioned before, that I grew up an Army brat, I moved around my whole life,  I didn't grow up next to my cousins or aunts and uncles, or grandparents... So being able to have a relationship with them despite hardly ever visiting or seeing each other is awesome!
At a family gathering my mom and aunt surprised me with my cousin! We hadn't seen each other in quite sometime, so it was such a nice surprise!

so today, I'm throwing it back to...
that one time that my cousin and I thought it would be fun to conjoined at the hair.

It all started here. We were laying on the ground chatting about high school girl stuff and our we laid our hair on the carpet.

For some reason that is lost to me now, we thought it would be an awesome idea to join our hair into one ponytail. It was so much fun! It was hard to move around, so we didn't keep it like that for long, but I'm glad we got a picture of the fun time we had!
